Beck back? Hell Yes

This one snuck by me for some reason...Beck's new EP Hell Yes and single "E-Pro".

The EP utilizes old Nintendo game sounds and was mixed using 8-bit sound. A startling contrast to the sound of Sea Change, obviously. More in tune with previous work like Odelay and Mellow Gold.

A couple videos have already made their way onto the net, both pointed out by Stereogum. The first is a web-only one for "Ghettochip Malfunction (Hell Yes)" which is on the just released EP, and is an 8-bit version of the song that will appear on the album. The style is completely Shynola (Junior Senior "Move Your Feet", Radiohead "Pyramid Song") but apparently was created by Mumbleboy. Watch it here (stereogum's post.)

A second video is a ascii visual blast for the song "Black Tambourine" (stereogum's post.)

Shynola did, apparently, create a video for "E-Pro", but I've not seen it. Good to see them back to making videos, though. Sounds like they spent all of last year on working on the movie Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
