The Vandals on James Frey's My Friend Leonard
I just finished James Frey's My Friend Leonard, his followup to his 2003 great autobiography of addiction and recovery, A Million Little Pieces (which is in production currently for a movie treatment.) It's not a piece ripe to be Novel Soundtrack'd, but there is a scene where he goes to see The Vandals play at a club in Chicago that had me scrambling to revisit some of their skate punk revelry.
Our good friend Megan Sukys also interviewed Frey this past Tuesday about MFL on KUOW's The Beat (click to listen here - interview begins at 22:30.) Somehow, Frey managed to stay away from expletives, unlike later that night speaking here in Seattle at Town Hall (that fuckin' potty mouth!)
Of course Lindsay Lohan identifies with a recovering drug addict for some reason. (Junk Feud:)
She's supposedly petitioning to play Lily in the film adaptation of Frey's A Million Little Pieces.
