Crowespective: Show me the money

Play it: Rssmbld Sndtrck - Jerry Maguire

Cameron's third movie found him paired with megastar Tom Cruise (even though the role was written for Tom Hanks) and it worked for both parties, with Crowe's sensibilities giving Cruise a less cocky, more human character to work with. It also won some golden gods: A Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Cuba Gooding Jr., and a Golden Globe win for Tom Cruise.

While the subject matter was miles from Seattle, Crowe still hadn't gotten it out of his system so Courtney Love was considered for the role of Dorothy Boy, and Alice In Chains' guitarist Jerry Cantrell had a cameo. The film also had a Nirvana song in it ("Come as You Are") possibly making up for the fact that Nirvana was the only grunge heavyweight not featured in Singles. Other then that, the soundtrack is fairly pedestrian for Crowe, with the obligatory Tom Petty, and classic rock (classics from the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and a new song from Bruce Springsteen.) However, Charles Mingus in a film soundtrack is always a nice surprise.

Crowe-moment: I guess it would have to be when Cruise is singing along to Tom Petty's "Free Falling."

Eric Stoltz watch: Plays Ethan Valhere (he played a character named Valhere in Say Anything as well.)
