Fingers in the Factories

Play it: Editors The Back Room

One of the many bands that had folks huddled en masse to see at SXSW, Editors debut finally sees it's US release today. Much like Interpol's debut, Turn On The Bright Lights, The Back Room has their fingers in the 80's underground factories, specifically Tom Smith's vocals seems to channel the two Ians - Joy Division's Ian Curtis, and Echo & the Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch. When done wrong, this can be trying (see stellastar,) but Editors pull it off like Interpol did... with attitude, style, and a creative dual guitar attack.

Standout tracks include "Bullets," "Blood," "Fingers in the Factories" and the lead U.S. single "Munich."
