After two albums on Sub Pop, Rogue Wave has moved on to an unlikely partnership with Jack Johnson, releasing their third album on his new Brushfire label tomorrow. The title Asleep at Heaven's Gate may have you thinking of a certain UFO cult, and it's probably no accident. The band has been through a lot since their last album: A kidney transplant, death of a father, the birth of Rogue's daughter... it's enough to think a comet might just be coming to take you away.
When they perform the dreamy waltz "Lake Michigan" on Conan Wednesday night, don't stare too long into frontman Zach Rogue's hair for too long, or you too might find yourself wondering when Hale-Bopp is coming back.
Meanwhile, KT Tunstall also has a new album this week (Drastic Fantastic,) and is may be setting some kind of talk show appearing on Conan, Regis, Kimmel, an Ellen. That's what we call a talk show slut, my friends.
