Ear on TV: The week of January 28

Those that saw My Morning Jacket perform at Lollapallooza this past July with The Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, have a nice memory. Those that taped some of it with their cellphone or digital camera, have a bit more than that. And those that uploaded their footage for Current TV as part of a public call for entries, can call themselves 'camera operator' on the upcoming concert feature All Eyes on My Morning Jacket, airing this Wednesday night.

Every single entry was used, even only for a few frames, making for an interesting editing session. This is the second All Eyes project, the first collaborating with The Shins and fans from their 2006 Austin City Limits performance, and it should be noted that The Beastie Boys also did something similar with their feature-length film Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That! from 2006 -- and let's not forget about that Bon Jovi video.

Meanwhile, Tom Petty has the unenviable task of playing the halftime show of Super Bowl XLII, while Prince's incredible performance is still in our minds. FOX is sure to avoid any calls complaining about simulated masturbation, but I hope Petty's not going to dumb it down for them. Nobody's asking him to shimmy in the Purple one's high-heels, but a little extra Damn the Torpedoes bravado wouldn't hurt.
