It was 40 years ago today that Sesame Street aired its first episode, November 10, 1969, which explains why In case you've been wondering why Google has had Sesame Street on the brain for the past week (culminating in today's great doodle pictured above). The opening credits haven't changed that much, when you think about it... here's the original opening:
