Sons of Anarchy "So": Grief Counsel

These men behind us, they love you, they respect you and they understand your grief. But they're also wondering what you're going to do with it.

The first two seasons saw Jax trying to (metaphorically) find his father, and now we get to spend the start of season three watching him try to (literally) find his son. There's a certain amount of beauty in the symmetry.

Musically, Joshua James recorded a version of Herman's Hermits "No Milk Today" for this episode (available on iTunes), a classic song about loss that was used for the opening montage. Bookending the episode is Richard Thompson's "Dad's Gonna Kill Me," but that 'Dad' is not a father, but instead serving as slang for Baghdad. The song is about war, and a war of sorts has indeed come to Charming.

Sons of Anarchy - Episode 3.01
1. "No Milk Today" - Joshua James & the Forest Rangers (Herman's Hermits original)
2. "Sunset to Dawn" - The Sadies (Mel Walker original)
3. "Home Invasion" - The Chimpz
4. "Dad's Gonna Kill Me" - Richard Thompson
