One of the underappreciated joys of porn movies is the ridiculously cheesy acting and storylines. Director James Gunn (Slither, Scooby Doo) recognized that sometimes the sex gets in the way of good porn, so out it goes in a series of webisodes called PG Porn. The first installment, launched today on Spike.com, features webisode veteran Nathan Fillion (Dr. Horrible, Serenity) matched up with Aria Giavanni (Pentouse Pet, 2000) in a scene titled "Nailing Your Wife." The good: Fillion's acting like a bad actor was very Boogie Nights (a compliment,) while Aria was Aria (a compliment, I think). The ending was a great twist on expected penetration. Tyler Bates (300, Californication) provides both a true to porn score along with the theme song.
The bad: The execution is amusing, but at just over 2 minutes, it's like sex with Mr. Grimes.
