The Seattle Mariners have made the most significant free agent signing in their history, by inking Adrian Beltre to $64 million, five-year deal today.
Only 25, the Mariners will have him for what's considered his 'peak years' of 25-30 years of age. He finished 2nd to Bonds in MVP voting last year, and was the leading fielder percentage-wise in the National League. A lot of happy Mariner fans today.
