I got to say, music targeted for children is pretty piss poor. I've been trying to steer clear of the straight and narrow here and veered off into some interesting sleeptime terrain.

Now before you get concerned that I'm exposing my lil' one to depressing music, I think it's healthy to hear lullabies sung from the perspective of a dying parent to his child (Tom Waits,) or from the perspective of a son singing to his dying mother (Tim Finn.) That's life, yo, and like previous post says, it happens.

This is great Drake. I am always looking for good stuff the baby can listen to at bedtime as well. H"orsey" was already one of them, but the rest of your list will make great additions for us. Some others I play for my daughter include Israel Kamakawiwo`ole's "Over The Rainbow", Clem Snide's "Fontanelle" and most anything by the Cocteau Twins and Brian Eno.

Yeah, I've been waiting and hoping we get some Clem Snide in Rhapsody, but I'm not holding my breath.
It's funny you mention Brian Eno as I was just playing "Skysaw" for another playlist I'm making and as grating as the song can seem, Eli seemed to like it - but that doesn't surprise me. I haven't found any music he doesn't seem to like.
As for Israel Kamakawiwo`ole's "Over The Rainbow"... if it weren't for the fact we played that at my sister's funeral, that would definitely be in stable of lullabies. Maybe when there's enough distance, we'll get the song back.
