Bumbershoot, Day 3

Play it: Bumbershoot 2005 - Sunday (Updated from July 21st post)

The 35th annual Bumbershoot will feature four days of more than 2,500 artists on over 20 stages and venues. Sunday's lineup features one of the highlights of past festivals in Elvis Costello. The singer/songwriter is a last minute substitution for Ani DiFranco (who cancelled her summer tour earlier) and what a sub he makes. Other highlights include Son Volt, Common, The Posies, Hot House Flowers, and Billy Preston.

My Picks:
Wheedle's Groove (1:45-3:30PM, Mural Ampitheater) Seattle had a funk and soul scene back in the day, and it wasn't until a compilation last year (Light in the Attic Records) that folks got to hear a lot of it. Many of the players are back for this one-time performance.
Common (3:15-4:15PM, Memorial Stadium/Main Stage)
The Duhks (5-6:15PM, Broad St. Lawn)
The Posies (7-8:15PM, Broad St. Lawn) Maybe Jon and Ken will have an update on Alex Chilton's status.
Son Volt (8:30-10:15PM, McCaw Hall) Chose this over Elvis only because of location

Unlike at Bumbershoot, The Posies were warm and dry for the show here in San Francisco
