Buddy-tape it

Play it: Love Monkey Ep. 1.03

Sony boy Teddy Geiger (Wayne) really needs to go. I could stomach it as a brief appearance, but this 'series as music video' is going on now for three full episodes. I suppose it's the logical final step in much of what I've harped on in the past (labels desperate for artist exposure with the state of radio and MTV.) Unfortunately, the series has so much potential, but it makes me want to take a shower after every episode. The buddy-tape-ing of 'artist promotion' to plot has officially come undone and gangreen has set in... time to amputate.*

Other appearances this week were Spoon-a-likes Robbers on High Street (playing "Love Underground" in a small club,) and an awkward appearance by James Blunt. Best guest appearance of the show, though, was Nicky Katt (Dazed and Confused) as the director. He's soooo good at playing the asshole, it's too bad he's not utilized more often. Next week is Aimee Mann.

*For those that missed the episode, 'buddy-tape' was referenced a few times. And yes I realize the metaphor is tenuous at best.
