Work has been preventing me from blabbering on about my favorite new music as much as I'd like, but I thought I'd leave you with this fab new release from this week.
Album: Califone - Roots and Crowns
Mixing folk traditions with Pro Tools sounds like a scary venture, but in the hands of Tim Rutili and Brian Deck (both formerly of the amazing Red Red Meat) it sounds wonderous. Their last album was hard to get through, but still worth the effort. This one just shines from start to finish, effort be damned.
Other folks like it too:
Pitchfork - 8.7
Stylus Magazine gives it an A-
Coke Machine Glow - 87%
