Right on Target

Target's television commercials have been inventive (like this favorite of mine) in the past four years or so (especially the way they co-brand,) but the one they launched for the Golden Globe Awards is pretty amazing.

The ad is 'Design For All' (watch here) and features a song by the Swedish band The Concretes called "Say Something New". This is the first time, to my knowledge, Target has brought to light a new underground song - much the way Volkswagon ads used to do (and Kiddie Soaps and Apple iPod ads do now - see below.)

Here's a short Rhapsody playlist of great songs from Target commercials. List includes the aforemention Concretes, Cornershop, Mary Lou Lord, Digable Planets, and more.

While were on the subject of songs in television commercials, mgrooves over at Rockschool posted the excellent ipod collection in a Rhapsody playlist.
