Spoon's gotta new video out for "I Turn My Camera On" and it's not as boring as the rest of their videos have been. (Click to view.) Maybe this one will cross 'em over. Probably not, though... I imagine it will be "Sister Jack" that blows this thing wide open.
In other Spoon news, this week Robbers On High Street's release Tree City finally made it's way into the Rhapsody library (click to listen.) They sound to me like Spoon in an alternative universe. If they moved to NY after recording the Soft Effects EP and befriended The Strokes, er sumtin'. I honestly think the Spoon references are a bit overdone in regards to ROHS's sound, but you really couldn't pick a better band to be accused of sounding like. I remember when Spoon went through the same thing in regards to them sounding like The Pixies, which also is a pretty good one to copy (if you must!)
Update - it appears the Tree City album is available for purchase. Oh well, you're better off listening to any Spoon album anyway.
A Spoonful of Spoon
Best thing since the Spoon
