The full (100) Uncut list of greatest debuts is finally making the rounds now, and it's necessary to remember that this is coming from an 'over the seas' perspesctive (Uncut is a British rag.) The Velvet Underground & Nico makes for a nice #1, but it's telling that The Stone Roses is all the way up at #4 and the Arctic Monkeys' debut from last year (Whatever People Say I Am...) came in at #36. As with any list like this, there's a lot of debate as to why this is higher then, say, that.... but in the end it is just a list put together by blokes like you and me. (Well... maybe not like YOU ;)
