Sun, cerveza, the beach, and political unrest

Finally back from wonderful Zihuatanejo, our favorite place on earth. It was hot (mid 90s and humid as all get out) with no AC relief, but I'll take it any day. We ate at all our old favorite places (Fonda Economica Susy, Los Braseros, Pollos Locos) and drank our favorite drink every day: Sol and Manzanita (light lager and apple soda mixed together.) I was Dia de Los Muertos, which ran like three nights of Halloween, kids dressed up asking us for candy on the street.

It was fun despite all the political unrest there. The military and policia were in full force towards the end after some hand grenades exploded just north of us in Ixtapa, and Mexico City experienced a series of bomb threats at the same time. Meanwhile, south of us in Oaxaca, the rising rebellion was being felt even in sleepy Zihua. An interesting time to be a visitor in Mexico, to say the least.

Meanwhile, Eli became a beach bum:

This is not sped up... the kid is fast!
