Thanks to an interview with Gilsig in the LA Times, we're tipped that "Mattress" was going to be the start of resolving the issue, and at the very least, the goings on will at least provide time for the writers to come up with a way to make the Terri character more sympathetic. If only Terri had a locked drawer that she could've hided her fake pregnancy bump, the similarity to the recent Mad Men's season finale might've been eerie. What they did here, though, was the easy part. Terri getting caught was inevitable, that much is known. How they handle the aftermath is where we'll know the series' mettle.
Because the episode served more of the drama this hour (especially the band-aid getting ripped off the fake pregnancy), there was far less music. Nonetheless, we were treated to a couple musical treats. "Jump" as a mattress commercial felt shoe-horned in, but was fun nonetheless, while The version of Lily Allen's "Smile" was nearly bold... nearly. But think how mind-blowing cool would it had been if they'd done Velocity Girl's "I Can't Stop Smiling"? I know, I know... these kids don't even know who Sarah Shannon is. Well, prepare to be schooled... seriously, it's school photo time --perhaps, for a yearbook?
